University of the West Indies, St. Augustine
Faculty Member, Film Programme
About
I am a member of the small, but growing, Film Programme at the St. Augustine campus of the University of the West Indies in Trinidad and Tobago, where I have been since August 2008.
I received my PhD from the University of Warwick. My doctoral project was concerned with contemporary Scottish cinema, film policy in Britain and the consumption of Scottish films at home and abroad.
I am currently working on two major research projects. The first of these is a book based on doctoral research, entitled 'Scottish Cinema: Texts and Contexts' (Manchester University Press). The second is a comparative study of the film cultures of the nations of the Commonwealth.
At UWI, I teach a range of courses, including introductory courses on Film Analysis and Film History as well as advanced courses on Film Authorship, Film Sound and Indian Cinema, amongst other things.
