About

I am a Lecturer in Linguistics and a member of SIL International (Americas Area). I received my BA and PhD in Linguistics at UWI, St. Augustine.  I also hold the DELF French language certificate (Grenoble III), SIL certificates in Linguistics (France and UK), a postgraduate diploma in Brazilian Indigenous Languages and Linguistics (Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro), and the IPA Certificate in English Phonetics (via UCL).

My research and teaching interests include (socio)phonetics, contact linguistics, the history of Portuguese language and culture in the Caribbean, South American French Creole varieties, and Bible Translation.

I am currently Secretary-Treasurer of the Society for Caribbean Linguistics (SCL).
